David G. Hanna

David G. Hanna is Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of CompuCredit, which was formed in 1996. CompuCredit has grown to become one of the largest originators of credit cards in the United States, eventually serving over 4.5 million customers. David Hanna has extensive experience in the credit industry, including co-founding Account Portfolios in 1990 with his brother Frank. Account Portfolios quickly became one of the largest purchasers of distressed debt in the United States.

Prior to founding Account Portfolios, David Hanna was President of the Government Services division of Nationwide Credit. Nationwide was one of the top five receivables management companies in the country and was sold in 1990 to First Financial Management. David Hanna began his career as a lending officer with C&S National Bank in Atlanta.

In addition to his business career, David Hanna also is involved in various charitable activities. He is a founding member of the board of directors of two private Catholic schools in Atlanta, Georgia, Holy Spirit Preparatory School, and the Solidarity School.

He also serves on the board of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, the Foundation for Children's Healthcare in Atlanta, Catholic Charities of Atlanta, the Lumen Institute and Piedmont Hospital. He has a particular interest in the treatment of childhood cancers, as his oldest son contracted lymphoblastic lymphoma ( with his cancer ultimately going into remission).

David Hanna has a B.B.A. degree in Finance from the University of Georgia and lives in Atlanta.
